Collective Experiences explores the power of visual storytelling through the lens of seven gifted photographers from the 2023 Fall Semester of the Visual Storytelling class at California Baptist University.
Matter and Expression features current work by artists from Tierra del Sol’s Upland Art Studios, including subjects such as characters and heroes from pop culture, landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, animals, and abstractions, all transformed by the imaginations of the individual artists.
For this show, Pechez goes back to her country roots and draws inspiration from horse shows, rodeos, and events around our country’s western lifestyle.
Clouds can be the bringers of destructive floods, but more often of life-giving rain for crops.
My father had a great sense of humor. My mother was a great artist. I got a little bit of that DNA from both of them. I’ve learned a lot about painting by copying the works of my favorite artists. The humor just gradually showed up.

Phil Dike, known to many in the Pomona Valley art community as one of the main innovators of the California Style watercolor painting movement prevalent in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Phil Dike grew up in Redlands and gained prominence as a watercolorist and teacher at Chouinard School of Art, Scripps College and the Claremont Graduate School.
