Joshua Kwon

August 8 - October 5, 2024

Joshua Kwon, who started working in the arts program at Tierra del Sol in 2022, has been drawing pictures since he was 5 years old. Kwon is a skilled visual artist who interweaves a realistic objectivity with cartoon stylings that are reminiscent of Disney and Pixar animations. Influenced by popular films such as Finding Nemo and the naturalistic photography of National Geographic, he portrays a diverse array of fish and sea creatures within their native environments. Kwon uses markers, clean lines, a rich palette of colors, and subtle blended, gradations of tones to render his vivid and original scenes of oceanic life. When at home and not engaged in his artmaking, he also enjoys cooking and baking. Joshua Kwon was born in 2000 in Corona, California and currently resides in Diamond Bar.

Joshua Kwon has exhibited his work at the Tierra del Sol Gallery, West Hollywood.
