The Ontario International Airport Authority has appointed the Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA) to manage the artistic displays at the airport. The program brings original visual art created by regional artists the two airport terminals, to be seen by more than 6 million passengers who use the airport annually. Exhibits are displayed in wall-mounted glass display cases adjacent to the passenger arrival/departure gates within the secure area of each terminal. The cases can accommodate both 2D and 3D works of art.

The display cases are in pairs. Typically, your artwork will be considered for only one of the paired cases. The display space is approximately 55”W by 38”H by 23”D. 2D art is displayed on back boards measuring 38”H x 54” W. Due to the way the display cases open, there may be other limitations on size for 3D art.

An exhibit will typically be on display for 6 months and include information on contacting the artist. Any sales resulting from the exhibit are yours. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the artist. Exhibits are installed by CCMA installation teams.

Artist eligibility: The Ontario International Airport Authority is specifically interested in supporting artists who live in the airport catchment area – roughly San Bernardino and Riverside counties + parts of eastern Los Angeles County/San Gabriel Valley and northern Orange County – though all artists will be considered. All media is eligible for consideration except that requiring power.

Application: To apply for Art at Airport (A3), complete an application form, submit a short artist biography and artist statement, and digital images of the art to be exhibited. Photos taken with a cell phone are acceptable. Applications may be submitted at any time.

Download the application form here.

Applications may be submitted online or can be printed, completed and submitted as hard copy. Submit the completed application and images to info@chaffeymuseum.org or to Chaffey Community Museum of Art, 217 S. Lemon St., Ontario, CA 91761.

Contact CCMA at info@chaffeymuseum.org with questions or requests.
